Public Transportation Indy Go operates 31 local service routes in Marion County, 27 of which converge in the downtown area on “The Loop”—Ohio Street to Capitol Avenue to Maryland Street to Delaware Street. Ohio Street at Meridian Street is the main hub for transfers. Most routes operate seven days a week, but some only run five or six days.

Airport Service. For residents and visitors using Indianapolis International Airport, Indy Go’s Route 8 offers transportation seven days a week, early morning to late night with departures from the airport every half hour for most of the day. Route 8 travels along Washington Street from the Airport to downtown, an approximately 45-minute travel time. Once downtown, Route 8 traverses Ohio Street for easy transfers with any other downtown route in the system and is within a 15-minute walk of most downtown hotels.

It will populate your current location to make it even easier.  If you’d rather use an app, Google Maps give you Indy Go trip planning as well. Enter your origin and destination then choose the transit icon as your mode of travel for step-by-step directions including what route to take, what bus to board, where to board and what time you should be there.
  • Online. Use the trip planner on the following link:  All they need is your destination; they'll take care of the rest. If you’re looking ahead, click “Choose Date & Time” to get future trip plans.
  • By Phone. Customer service representatives are available to help plan a trip, provide schedule info, and give details on route detours. Call Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., or on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
